Exploring with Raghav on Sunday - 30 Nov, 2025

  • Botanic gardens in the morning, had a nice walk and saw the orchid garden.
  • Went to Orchid road, Raghav wanted to show me his favourite book store, Kinokuniya. It was quite interesting and had everything from manga to academic books.
  • Had lunch at a vegan restaurant in a mall called Funan. Had a mock meat burger and fries. Also went into a lot of electronics stores and I showed him interesting things about cameras.
  • Went to Clarke Quay to walk by the river. Walked through the parliament, supreme court and several interesting buildings.
  • Went to the Asian Cultural museum. It had some great exhibits, mostly on the history of religion in Singapore and Asia.
  • Went back to Funan mall to have an iced tea at toast box and also had the famous kaya toast.
  • Went back home for early dinner and then went to Gardens by the Bay for the light show. It wasn’t great so left to see the Marina Bay Sands light show which was amazing.
  • Walked around the Marina Bay area and went to the helix bridge. Felt good when I answered a tourist’s question about ATGC bases in DNA which was on the floor of the bridge.
  • Went to the Singapore Flyer for a view of the city at night. It was quite nice.

Exploring solo on Monday - 01 Dec, 2025

  • Started off late as it was raining in the morning.
  • Went to little India. It wasn’t as vibrant as I expected but still had some interesting sights.
  • Had Chilli Parotta at A2B restaurant for lunch. It was quite good.
  • Went to Chinatown, exited from the Pagoda side as Raghav suggested and it was a great idea.
  • The market was packed with tourists but I got a few interesting photos.
  • Went to Garden by the Bay in the afternoon. Didn’t get to see the flower dome as I had to get home for dinner. But the cloud forest was amazing.
